The article linked to yesterday's post is about making our journal into a practice/discipline that aids our growth on the spiritual journey. The most important aspects of the practice/discipline are routinely writing in the journal and routinely reading what has been written. However you choose to journal (whatever style or format you choose) it is important that you do it regularly so it takes on an integrity in its ability to reflect your true nature. And, you need to go back to it often to review and analyze its content for what it has to say. Express and then interpret.
Over the next few days I will post some spiritual writings from some notable guides. Use the opportunity to read the masters, then write about what they have to say in your journal. You can review the styles listed in the article and decide what approach you want to take, or you can just write and see what naturally comes. The practice/discipline is to interact with the material you read and express that in your journal. After a week, go back and reread all of your entries for that week. If it helps to keep on task, write down on your calendar to journal each day. Then on the seventh and the fourteenth days, write to journal and then review entries.
Good luck and watch for the daily posts to ponder.
