Crafting and Praying the Prayers

While we have shared many formats for prayers, little has been said about writing prayers and prayer services.  Recently the UMC has joined hands with the Evangelical Lutheran Church.  This connection has spread a discussion of church polity and teaching.  I think the ELC has some wonderful resources available that should be made known.  In particular, today I am linking you to a guide for writing prayers.  It comes from the ELC Seminary in Canada.  Not only does it discuss the separate forms of prayer that exist in the Eucharistic Liturgies, it tells what makes them unique, and offers examples of each.  It is quite thorough and a must read for anyone involved in development of church worship resources and liturgical resources.  Give it a good going over and share its contents with those you table with.
