The Inner Cell

As the Lenten Experience is drawing to a close, we have had ample time to find our heart.  We have made use of many spiritual practices to clarify direction and formation.  Spiritual practices are meant to enable us to enter into the heart and there experience the Presence of the Divine One.  But, the cycles of the church year are not the only times marked to find our heart.  We are called to enter the heart and experience the LORD daily.  How will we carry our practices of Lent forward into all of the year.  One of the Fathers of the Desert encouraged us to go into our cell - for our cell will teach us all things.

During the Lenten Journey I have posted many samples of prayer books and prayer services to help you to find an Ordo that fits into your daily practice.  Over the next few weeks I would like to look at the establishment of icon corners, prayer places, or sacred spaces within our homes.  These holy places will become the locus of our practice.

Until Pascha has concluded, I wish you a Blessed Pascha, A Holy Pascha!  By anticipation: "Christ is Risen"!  "Christos Anesti"!

You have descended into the realm of Death, O Christ, and have broken the ancient bonds which held the captives; and, like Jonah from the whale, on the third day you rose from the tomb.
